JWT Decoder guide

With Sorola JWT Decoder, you can decode and view the contents of JSON Web Tokens. The tool works entirely in the browser – the token is never sent to the server.

What is a JWT (JSON Web Token)?

JSON Web Token (JWT) is a standardized way to securely transmit information between parties as a JSON object. It is widely used in web application authentication and API authorization.

Structure: A JWT consists of three parts: Header, Payload (Data), and Signature. With this tool, you can easily view the first two parts in plain text.

1. How do I decode a token?

  1. Copy and paste your JWT string into the top text field.
  2. The tool automatically decodes the token instantly.
  3. You can view the Header and Payload data as nicely formatted JSON code in the boxes below.

Privacy

JWT Decoder works entirely locally in your own browser. The token you enter is never saved or forwarded anywhere.
